Your life. Your rules.

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2026 · Closed beta

We read. We never write.

Connected sources stay exactly as they are. We only read what you choose to connect.

No ads. No selling.

We do not sell your information and we do not train AI models on your Memory.

Every read leaves a trace.

Agents read only under a Grant you control, and each read is recorded.

Scope and updates

This policy explains how Safe Memory ("Safe Memory", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit safememory.ai, join the waitlist, sign in at app.safememory.ai, use the Memory Sync app, or connect an agent to your Memory.

Safe Memory is in closed beta. The product and this policy will change as we learn. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and tell signed-in users before the change applies to them.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

  • What you tell us: your email address, and optionally why you want Safe Memory and which kinds of memories you would connect first.
  • What your browser sends: your IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country, region, city and timezone), browser and device details (user agent, language, screen size), the page that referred you and any campaign tags in the link, and the time of your visit.
  • A security check: Cloudflare Turnstile confirms the request comes from a person and not an automated script.

When you have an account

  • Sign-in: we use Sign in with Google. Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We never see your Google password.
  • Account activity: sign-in times, the IP addresses and devices of your sessions, and the settings you choose.

Your Memory

  • Connected sources: the information held in the apps you choose to connect, such as photo metadata and places, viewing and listening history, or meeting notes. What we read depends on each source and on the permissions you give it.
  • Derived memory: summaries we compute from that information by code, such as a travel log or the countries you have visited.
  • Access records: the Grants you create for agents and a log line for every read.

How we use it

  • To run the waitlist, decide when to open spots and invite you.
  • To provide Safe Memory: import your sources, build your Memory and serve it to the agents you allow.
  • To keep the service secure: prevent abuse, investigate problems and protect your account.
  • To understand which sources and features people want, so we build the right things next.
  • To contact you about your access, your account and important changes.

We do not sell personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not use the content of your Memory to train AI models.

Who can see it

During the closed alpha, the Safe Memory team can access accounts, including the content of a Memory, to operate the service, fix problems and support you. Every such access is recorded in the account's audit log. Before the beta opens more widely, this access will be limited to account details, such as email, status and connected sources, and never Memory content.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers who process information on our behalf and only for the services they provide to us:

  • Cloudflare, for our network connection, security and the Turnstile check.
  • Google, for Sign in with Google.
  • Apple, for distributing the Memory Sync app.

Your Memory is stored on servers we operate. It is not stored with these providers.

Other disclosures

We may disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

Agents and Grants

No agent can read your Memory until you create a Grant. A Grant names the agent, the parts of your Memory it can read, and for how long. You can revoke a Grant at any time and it stops access immediately. Every read under a Grant is recorded and visible to you.

When an agent you choose reads your Memory, what that agent's provider does with the answer is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

  • Leave the waitlist at any time by writing to us.
  • See and download the information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Delete your account and your Memory, or disconnect a single source.
  • Revoke any Grant you have given to an agent.
  • Object to a use of your information, or withdraw consent you gave.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any right, write to us at the address below. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Security

We protect information with encrypted connections, encrypted storage for source credentials, read-only access to your sources, permissions that deny by default, and an audit log of every read. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you without undue delay.

Where data is processed

We and our providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Retention

  • Waitlist entries are kept until you are invited and create an account, or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Account information and your Memory are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete them within 30 days, and copies in backups expire within 90 days.
  • Security and audit records may be kept longer when we need them to protect the service or meet legal obligations.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the service: to keep you signed in, protect forms and complete Sign in with Google. Cloudflare may set its own security cookies. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Children

Safe Memory is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
